There is no excuse for not trying

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Today Presient Obama delivered a speech to students at Wakefield High School in the Washington suburb of Arlington, Virginia. The speech was under much controversy mostly by the conservatives - why exactly, I'm not sure. Having someone like President Obama deliver a speech to motivate students is more than a good thing, it's the way it should be. Too many kids these days just aren't motivitated to try hard or be their best. Just listening to what Obama had to say made me want to try harder as a parent in making sure that my children give their absolute best effort in school.
I still don't understand what the fuss or concern was about. All he is trying to do is motivate your children. Let's face it, there are more people including teachers who just don't give a shit anymore and or they give up on kids. Then there are the kids who are being swayed toward the wrong direction with drugs, violence, and dropping out by their own peers. Do you think that they'd rather have these type of people talking to their kids? Students today need all the encouragement an guidance that they can get. The president is just trying to do his part- he's the leader of our nation --not the enemy. So why not listen to what he has to say.

The people who were making a big stink about the Presidents speech, are probably the ones who have kids that are snot-nosed-spoiled-brat asses.
Get a grip America!
